Tapeka is a small community of mainly holiday homes, close to but isolated from the visitors to Russell and the bustle of tourists and backpackers in Paihia. As the road from Russell ends at the point, there is no passing traffic making it quiet, private, relaxing and safe for children. Unlike almost all other so called "beachfront" properties, there is no road between the house and the beach.

There are unobstructed beach and sea views with the beach just a few steps away. The view is never boring as the point is the main navigation lane into the Bay.
